Curriculum

At Nigerian Ghanaian Schools (NGS), learning is at the heart of everything we do, guided by a child-centered approach that prioritizes each student's unique needs and potential.

The NGS Advanced Learning Programme

At this stage of our educational journey, Nigerian Ghanaian Schools (NGS) offers a globally recognized program that empowers our graduates to excel anywhere in the world. Our leaving qualifications are accepted by leading universities worldwide, providing a strong foundation for future academic success.

Over the two-year program, students will:

  • Study six subjects selected from six subject groups.
  • Complete an in-depth extended essay.
  • Engage in a Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course.
  • Participate in Creativity, Action, and Service (CAS) activities.
  • Take three subjects at a higher level (240 teaching hours each).
  • Take three subjects at a standard level (150 teaching hours each).

Homework Expectations

Homework is an integral part of our program and is assigned regularly in all subjects, with increasing rigor as students progress. To maintain excellence, homework assignments are carefully monitored.

We encourage students to record their tasks in personal planners, which parents are asked to review daily. Parental support is vital, and we recommend providing a quiet workspace, showing interest in their assignments, and offering praise and encouragement to foster academic success.

Our Pre-School program adopts the Montessori Method, offering a nurturing environment where children develop essential skills through play, exploration, and discovery. It’s the perfect start to their educational journey

Our Primary School program focuses on building strong foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking. With a well-rounded curriculum and engaging activities, we nurture curiosity and prepare students for academic success.

The Secondary School program at NGS equips students with advanced knowledge and skills through the British Curriculum. We emphasize academic excellence, character development, and leadership to prepare students for higher education and global opportunities.
